The son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor, raised by Cyclops and Jean Grey in the far future, Cable would be one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe if they hadn’t dialed his powers way down in order to make sure he wasn’t. Cable joins the psychotic Carnage and psymexy Psylocke as three of the five new characters slated for downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

And aww, he’s fighting bad guys with his mummy. That’s so sweet.

The top screen has to be my favourite of the three. The one depicting the arena is nice, and you can never have too many troggs, but it’s moments like the one in the top shot that make games like Fallout 3 worthwhile for me. Just stopping for a moment to look out over the ruined landscape and take in the sheer scope of the situation and landscape the game has placed you in. Fallout 3 proper is filled with moments like that, and it looks like The Pitt downloadable content will follow suit come it’s March 24th release on the Xbox 360 and PC.

Ankama Group, creators of the delightful tactical strategy MMORPG Dofus, have signed a deal with Microsoft to bring their latest creation to the Xbox Live Arcade as Islands of Wakfu.

Wakfu is Ankama’s big cross-media project, that combines a new MMO set 1,000 years after Wakfu, which ties in with an animated cartoon, card game, comic book, and now an Xbox Live Arcade title due in late 2009. Islands of Wakfu will be an adventure beat-em up title that reveals all-new background content from both Dofus and Wakfu, which two players will be able to play in team mode.

I actually have a flyer from Wakfu I picked up at the Games Convention in Leipzig, simply because the art style was so adorable. As long as Islands of Wakfu follows suit I might just have to pick it up based on sheer cuteness alone. I am such a girl sometimes.

ANKAMA signs deal with Microsoft for its 1st next gen console game

Roubaix, France – 18th December 2008 – ANKAMA group, creator of internationally renowned MMORPG, DOFUS, is teaming up with Microsoft to develop its 1st console-based video game.

ANKAMA group has announced its partnership with Microsoft for the development of Islands of Wakfu, its 1st offering for the latest generation of game consoles. Islands of Wakfu, which is the most recent addition to Ankama’s crossmedia universe, retains DOFUS and Wakfu’s graphic touch, but adds the feel of an animated cartoon. This adventure/beat’em all style game can be played by two players in team mode and will reveal never seen before background content from the world of DOFUS and Wakfu.

Ankama Play, ANKAMA group’s newly created, independent next gen video game development studio, have recently finalised a deal with the software giant Microsoft.

Islands of Wakfu is planned for release in late 2009 on the Xbox Live Arcade.

The next project is codenamed “Jasper”. And where the Falcon shrunk the Xbox CPU to 65nm, the Jasper will continue the shrinkage, miniaturising the graphics chip to 65nm to match. And memory chips will become smaller as well.

Takahashi also claims that Microsoft engineers feel like the heat problem is under control with both the recent Falcon’s and older Zephyr’s heat sink solutions, so buyers shouldn’t beware when picking up new machines. While we’re not waiting until the new chipset hits next August to buy a machine, we’re not so certain the Microsoft has solved all their manufacturing issues just yet.
