Ian Beckman’s recreation of Warlords of Draenor‘s intro takes not just the game’s story, but also its graphics and sound back in time to the simpler, late PS1 era. A perfect fit for Draenor in the alternate timeline.
And it just reminded me of Warcraft Adventures. Damn.

If I might put my fussy nerd pants on:
It doesn’t look like a ps1 game. just a pixellation filter/high-aliasing on high poly models….and don’t get me started on it’s title being “8-bit”…*shudder*
(it was kinda nostalgic tho)
Yeah. It’s not like the PS1 was known for pre-rendered full motion video or anything.
*edit*
God, please don’t remind me about Warcraft Adventures. I spent years waiting for that game… and when it got canned, since it was basically finished, I spent even longer hoping Blizzard would just release it as Freeware. I mean… what did they have to lose, and it would see alot of happy long-time fans.
But noooo….
Why does the article say PS1 when clearly the video is “8-bit” style?
The video is clearly 32-bit, or at worst a very good 16 bit. That it says 8-bit is the biggest mistake.
Aye, it’s definitely a weird video that doesn’t appear to be here or there. Graphics seem about PS1 and the sound is 16-bit or worse!
PS1 was low poly 3D, not 2D pixelated sprites. Also it had excellent stereo sound card as well.
