Australia Has More Wiis Than 360s And PS3s Combined

wii lifestyle red shirt giant.jpg

Imagine the dude there in the red shirt is the Wii. He looks pretty big in that photo. Now imagine the other two guys are the Xbox 360 and the PS3. It doesn’t matter which, but for argument’s sake, the guy on the left is the 360 and the guy on the right is the PS3. See how small they look compared to Wii guy? If you added the two of them together, they’d still be smaller than Wii guy.

This rather laboured analogy is actually an accurate description of the hardware sales of this generation of consoles in Australia. At the end of last year, Microsoft told us they’d sold (nearly) 500,000 Xbox 360s. Then a few weeks later, Nintendo proclaimed that they had sold one million Wiis. Now, just yesterday, Sony admitted they’d sold just under 400,000 PS3s.

I think we can all do the math.
