The Sci Fi Channel's re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series may have ended its five-year-long run, giving its fans even less to do on Friday nights, but the property may still live on in video game form.
According to Bear McCreary, composer for all things Battlestar Galactica, there's a "super-cool top-secret video game project" in the works. He's just recently completed the score, he says, but appears to indicate it might not make a 2009 release. He writes on his official blog:
I'm also hopeful that we'll be able to release a soundtrack album for the super-cool top-secret video game project that I scored recently. If you guys like the score to BG, you're going to frakkin' flip out when you hear this! Details will be announced as soon as I'm allowed to say what it is!
We hope it's better than the Battlestar Galactica game released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2007. Given that McCreary is already done with the score, we'd think it's well into development and hopefully an indication that we're going to see a release crafted with a little more care than the most recent effort.
Until we hear more, there's plenty for wanting BSG fans to play.
Soundtrack Album Updates [thanks, Lee!]
