EA Sports is making the best of the Wii's graphical prowess by going with a stylised look for the Nintendo console-bound version of Madden NFL 10, which EA says is a "genre-defining art style."
Those visual changes include a "new stylised broadcast presentation" and new, exaggerated player models that range from the spindly wide receiver to the portly lineman. Each professional footballer has been endowed with anatomical caricature, the kind of un-realism that would make them real-life monstrosities. Think Team Fortress 2 football, minus the toon-like shaders and, well, the charm.
Each and every aspect of the Madden NFL 10 Wii-vamp has been carefully and loving molested by EA Sports. See?
"You'll be hard pressed to find a pixel that hasn't been touched in Madden NFL 10 for the Wii," says designer Matt Read.
