Simon Read’s a one-man dev team based out of the UK. He’s been making indie sports sims for a few years now, most notably his New Star Soccer series. Now he’s turned his attention to Formula 1 motor racing.
Fans of Super Sprint should download New Star Grand Prix right now. It boasts the same simple, top-down take on the racing genre, making it easy to jump straight in. But Read’s fleshed things out a little bit, having you compete on official F1 circuits against all the real drivers for the 2009 season. You also have to concern yourself with pit strategies and the unpredictability of inclement weather.
And you can also play cards, for some reason.
