PS3 Sales Up 288 Percent From Last April

The PS3 has outsold the Wii for the past two-and-a-half months. That we know. What percentage the Japanese PS3 sales have spiked since the same month last year, that we didn't — until now.

According to April data released by Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, PS3 sales are up 288 percent from the same period last year. The reason for the dramatic increase was the Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. The flick was bundled with the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII demo.

A sign of things to come when the game is released only on the PS3 in Japan?
