Times are changing. Marketing people are smart, they know things are different these days. These ad wizards are moving from traditional forms like print, TV and radio to the internet.
In a recent interview, Sony Computer Entertainment Platform Promotion Chief Tetsuro Sakurai talked about how things are changing. Up until now, he said, advertising has been centred around the living room via TV commercials. But then the internet hit and the speed at which information travels and spreads has increased dramatically. There's no way Sony can avoid it!
Importance of internet, good. Realising what it does, good. Understanding that your company cannot escape it, good. This guy totally has his finger on the pulse of what's happening. Then?
"Personally, I want to make an official message board on 2ch," Sakurai added with laugh. Um... Making an official Sony board? On 2ch? The largest anonymous internet forum in the world? Really? Well, yeah, good luck with that.
