E3 2009 is getting a massive dose of Square Enix next week. The company is bringing along a few games you might expect—Final Fantasy XIII, Dissidia Final Fantasy—and some brand new games.
That includes the newly announced NIER, a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 action adventure from developer cavia. According to official Square Enix word, the game is "set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures." Players will control the titular NIER, as he searches for a cure for his daughter armed with a "mysterious book."
Also confirmed for E3 is Front Mission Evolved, which has a new genre (third-person shooter) and a new developer (Double Helix). The wanzer-filled action game is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
