And The Biggest-Selling Game Out Of E3 Might Be...

With E3's hype train having come, paused then rattled off into the sunset, gamers are free to weigh up the holiday season's (and beyond!) planned releases, and make plans themselves. Like which of the games they're going to actually buy.

Market research firm Nielsen ran a poll between June 7-14, and asked a bunch of gamers which of the year's big Christmas or 2010 releases they'd either "definitely" or "probably" be picking up. You can see the results of that study below.

It's interesting seeing the disconnect here between the purchasing intent of the study group as opposed to what caught the attention of the people actually there. Or even the type of people reading this site.

OK, there's no Scribblenauts. That's to be expected. But no Uncharted 2? No Splinter Cell: Conviction? And no Modern Warfare 2? Now that's a surprise. Maybe they should have called it Call of Duty after all...

Who Won The Battle For Gamers' Hearts At E3? [Nielsen]

No Modern Warfare 2 AND Forza 3???

No Metroid other M either? Possibly the best Wii game on show and no-one wants it? What a load of crock.

I think this is proof that surveys likes this don't work out as well as they hope.

One might say, well not every is going to buy Modern Warfare 2 blah blah blah... but c'mon!

I really don't see Val Halen outselling MW 2. Aerosmith didn't sell like hot cakes and the audience playing Guitar Hero i think would appeal more to Aerosmith than Van Halen considering the mainstream difference between the two.

Only thing i can come up with, is that they surveyed all people at a PS3 event and thats why God of War came up. Same with Halo 3: ODST

But then there is a question why no Uncharted 2 when we all know that is an instant million+ seller.

Ahh well.. surveys are never accurate!

this is all bull SH iT
