Gran Turismo 5 Trailer Has, Yes, Car Damage

This one kind of passed us all by first time around, but if you look closely at the Gran Turismo 5 trailer from Sony's E3 press conference yesterday, you can clearly see some car damage.

We've provided a screengrab above, but if you want to see it for yourself, head to the Subaru rally sequence at around the 1:25 mark in the video below.

If this makes it into the game - which by being in the game's trailer you'd expect would be the case - it would be a first for the series.

There's rumors going around that car damage might only be included for the rally stages (and not the tarmac races) - possibly as they can only include damage detail for one or two cars, and not an entire grid.

Kinda makes sense, given that the only car damage was shown there, and not in the remainder of the trailer, which seems to have immaculately-timed spinouts where collisions are missed by millimeters. Also if the crash damage was such a new (and well-implemented) feature as the WRX damage looks, wouldn't they want to tout that a little more in the trailer?

Hmmm. I'm weary, but still hopeful :)

I really hope that gt5 has more cars then it does now, I was kind of disapointed when I bought it off PSN.
