Multi-Platform Final Fantasy XIII Won't Be Compromised

Final Fantasy XIII is a multi-platform game — which has some people worried about a dip in quality. Square Enix is here to ease those fears. That's nice!

"The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations," says Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase. "For example, right now we're working on the PS3 version first, and once we've completed that we'll really know how much game there will be to fit onto the Xbox 360 discs."

Kitase goes on to say that Square Enix currently does not know how many discs the Xbox 360 version will need, but does offer this: "There won't be a chance that we'll compromise anything because, oh it didn't fit in the 360 discs so we'll have to take it out of the PS3 version, or vice versa."

Kotaku AU Note: Fixed typo in header or did Kitase really mean there'd be no mullets in FFXIII?

I'm curious to know what the last console game that came on multiple discs was?

I don't think this would be too anoying if it comes on two discs and you are able to install the first disc to your 360 hardrive and play the game from the second disc...

Lost Odyssey came on multiple discs - four, I think.

glad to hear they are just finishing the ps3 version first still, and not slowing down development.

Unless they make use of the hard drive in 360 (and I mean using it as a cache and not us installing the disk to it), they are in for a uphill battle.

But it could be worse. If Hadeo Kojima had anything to do with FF13, the game would come on a DVD spindle and not a box.

No one should have to worry about. Even if the 360's CPU is less powerful than a PS3, this is an RPG game without that much going on simultaneously. The 360 can handle graphics processing ok, especially on stationary objects.

"Mulit-Platform Final Fantasy XIII Won’t Be Comprised"

Won't be Comprised? Not Comprised of what? Pixels?

There be a typo in your title!

All I want is a Japanese voice disk, to install to my 360. I can't stand english overdubs.
