Aliens Vs. Predator: The Prey

A new trailer for Rebellion's upcoming Aliens Vs. Predator showcases the game's third faction, the defiled corpses Marines.

The game is called Aliens Vs. Predator, not Aliens Vs. Predator Vs. Marines. An obvious fact, but one that bears mentioning here. The humans have never really shined in the Aliens movie series, and with the exception of Arnold and Danny Glover, everyone is basically just something to kill to pass the time as far as the Predators are concerned. Playing a Marine successfully n the original AvP game was the mark of a true gaming badass, because let's face it - they're terribly outmatched.

Sega and Rebellion both know this, thus the ending to this trailer. Either way you're screwed.

Because Sigorney Weaver TOTALLY got her ass kicked in Alien and Aliens.

Also, Marines were very well balanced in the original AVP and AVP2

I always thought Marines were very OP with those damn stunning grenades in AvP2.

AvP2 was such a fun game for me, especially as the wall-running,pouncing, fast running aliens. I'm really happy to see that a remake is finally being made.
From the trailers, I'd say that Sega has captured the gameplay in the original games that made them so great, and enchanced them with better power and graphics. And being a 2010 game, I'd expect them to support it with udpates and DLC as time goes by, making this game very popular for years to come.

Also, the marines are not 'the prey', they are 'the survivors'. Anyone who's played AVP1/2 for more than 5 minutes knows that the Aliens are 'the prey' (they are the species that the predators breed specifically to hunt)

Anyone who knows the Alien vs Predator universe beyond the somewhat badly represented movies know that the marines are the survivors, and the aliens are the prey... totally agree with you there Steven Bogos... however... Sigourney Weavers character in the Alien movies was not actual a marine. She worked for the Yutani-Wayland Corp. but wasn't a member of its Marine Corps.

In the 2nd movie, Aliens, she was attached to a Marine Corps unit, but still was not, herself, a marine... but again, couldn't agree more that maybe stating "the humans never really shined in the alien movies" was a bad choice of words for the article writer.

I don't know about you guys, but I thought the Marines campaign in AVP2 was the best FPS experience I'd had in quite a while. Unleashing hell on a Praetorian and hoping it went down before your ammo ran out was always insanely satisfying.
