Digging Into Halo 3: ODST: Characters, Weapons, Gameplay

In this first video documentary for Halo 3: ODST Gunnery Sgt. Eddie Buck introduces his (and your) team for the upcoming Bungie-developed shooter.

The video also walks us through the mission giving us a look at the new tech built into the game's characters, from weapons to electronics. We also get a taste of some of the personalities driving these new characters and plenty of in-game footage.

I like where this franchise is heading, loosening up on the whole player-as-hero feel for a lighter, more realistic future shooter.

I'm told that we can expect more of this "video documentaries" in the coming weeks leading up to the Sept. 22 launch of the Xbox 360 game.

from the sound of it, 3 of the characters look to be voiced by characters from Firefly / Serenity.

    Nathan Fillion
    Adam Baldwin
    Alan Tudyk

other than that looks pretty cool, can't wait.

This is definately appealing to me more than H3.I noticed the Brute plasma rifle is returning which is awesome. Also, lol at :09 in the corner "Send message, your tax dollars at work" XD
I can't wait to see what kind of easter eggs they put in this game

Is the game gonna have the outline of trees and enemies the whole time? Or can you turn that on & off? I don't really like it that much. I understand its a different approach and not the Master Chief, but it kinda annoys me after a while.

Judging by them showing usage of a fire grenade, lets hope Bungie actually put them to good use and make them more accessible. They felt useless in Halo 3, there's probably only two levels where they are made available without having to go looking for them.

is the pistol silent aswell? Hope so - take it on or off like in Rainbow Six. I also hope with the silencer, the AI is different so that they can't actually hear your kill someone, for example a Brute being killed and a pack of Grunts on the other side of some courtyard not being alerted.
