Ghostbusters Didn't Do Too Bad!

Some people are already calling the Ghostbusters game a failure, in light of its failure to crack the NPD's Top 10 for June and pricey development budget. Those people may be slightly off the mark.

Because while the individual SKUs of the game may not have performed as well as many would have predicted, the game released on a lot of consoles. Seven, to be exact. 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS, PSP and PC. And according to developers Terminal Reality, when those sales are combined the game has sold over a million units.

Add in the fact the game will probably have a long tail, that it's outsold any other movie tie-in for 2009 and that in PAL territories it's not out on 360, Wii, DS or PC yet, and thing's are looking just fine for Ghostbusters, thanks. It also might be a slow burner.

How about release it on the 360 in Australia and it might sell a few more!

Or release it on steam, I don't buy boxed PC games anymore...

I love this game, I have been playing it for the last few days. Think you would have to be a fan of the movies though.

Can we please have some numbers here..

Sony really buggered up the PAL release thanks to them being greedy. After talking to mltiple EB's and other GAME stores they have all told me that they have sold crap all on the PS3 since it launched and that they had many cancellations of the 360 version as a pre-order because of the delay.

lol Are you serious? Do you honestly think if Nintendo or Microsoft picked up publishing rights that they'd release on the competitor's consoles? I dont think so. Its got nothing to do with Sony, they released for THEIR consoles... why would they release for the Wii or 360? THINK before you speak next time; might help.

Atari released Ghostbusters on all platforms in North America. Sony secured a last-minute timed exclusive in Europe and Australia which saw it only released on PS3 and PS2 initially. That period expires in a couple of months and Namco Bandai will publish the other formats.

Just quietly, you can easily import it from places like CDWow and PlayAsia. It's not region locked see? I have my lovely NTSC copy sitting right here.

    Bustin' makes me feel good.

There's also DVDBoxoffice and Ebay. I'm annoyed having to import it if I want it, the EB stafpuff marshmallow man and DVD throw ins were nice preorder bonuses.
