Microsoft Gears Up For Fall Opening Of Retail Stores

Those Microsoft retail stores we've seen and been told about are going to start popping up near Apple stores this fall, Microsoft told Cnet.

"As we progress on our retail strategy there will be scenarios where we have stores in proximity to Apple," a representative told CNET News. "We are on track to open stores in the fall time frame."

Cnet reporter Ina Fried believes the company will start with a few test stores, and then open more in 2010.

Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner, a former Wal-Mart exec, seems to be heading up the effort.

Well doing so, hopefully they actually take on a lot of their products like they should with the 360 & Windows.

I mean the ZUNE had a lot of potential at launch. BUT the second generation was even better but still epic failed.

Hopefully this ZUNE HD or whatever its called actually becomes the success the ZUNE deserves. I find it odd that MS are opening retail stores, i dont know many MS products except Windows, Zune & Xbox.

Like do they have custom made Microsoft laptops & computers? I know they have mouses & accessories but yeah...
Ah well, hope they are a success. But yeah, note to Microsoft & definitely their Marketing & Advertising team,
WHEN YOU RELEASE A PRODUCT LIKE ZUNE, RELEASE IT PROPERLY WITH GOOD ADVERTISING & 100% COMMITMENT AND RELEASE IT SIMULTANEOUSLY WORLDWIDE.

Are they going to be in Australia? because ive been looking for a zune for AGES and cant find any!
