Fight Night Round 4 Gets Another 5

EA Sports is expanding the roster of Fight Night Round 4—and its coffers—by offering a new quintet of boxers as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Naturally, that's gonna cost you.

For 800 Microsoft points and/or $US9.99, depending on your system, you'll get Oscar De La Hoya, Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, and alternate versions of George Foreman and James Toney. Then they'll be able to beat the stuffing out of each other.

Electronic Arts has a free update planned as well, which includes less exciting things like new trunks, gloves and shorts. More enticing is the promised button-based control scheme, which anyone turned off by Fight Night's adherence to stick-based controls can try in an upcoming demo.

Watch for it in September.

I have to say thats a pretty weak lineup of boxers for US$10. Apart from that, people can download all of them already on boxershare (albeit not official). Just another clear sign of EA trying to cash in more with micro transactions. I have to say that this trend is concerning me... I'm just waiting for when EA start a pay-what-you-play system where I get the game and engine, but have to pay for the roster on a by-player basis. Its so annoying, we payed $70-99 already EA, just give us the FINSIHED game with all of the content available, dont hold things off in order to get more money later!
    ARRGHHH!!!

Hulkamaphone I am with you this practice is getting out of hand, if game content is to be downloaded for a price then the price should be alot lower to purchase a game disc, I belive this kind of thing will start to force console players back to pc and kill the console market for it is to expensive to enjoy the complete console experience, people are finding it harder to purchase the console fun do to the way the job market is going and extra money just is not there, so stop the bleeding.
