SMASH Brings Manga, Anime, Games, Cosplay, Maids Together

photo08_002SMASH stands for the Sydney Manga and Anime Show. It's on this weekend. But what's it all about?

It's where Australian manga and anime fans, artists and creators get together to share their passion for the artforms. There's a whole bunch of art-related contests, a fanfic comp, and cosplay exhibitions to enter.

Gamers are well catered for with tournaments running across a host of games, including Street Fighter IV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Rock Band. Ubisoft will also have their own section showcasing playable version of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up.

There's even a Maid Cafe (see pic).

It's at the Roundhouse at the University of New South Wales. Doors open 10am Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $20 and $18 each day.

Oh, and don't forgt to send your cosplay pics to us!

Always nice to have more pop culture conventions around.

Sadly I don't live near sydney.

I just printed my Weekend pass off and really looking forward to this!

Can't wait to take part in the Street Fighter IV tournament on Sunday afternoon

I'd hit that Micha girl. I'd hit it more if she wore glasses.

This Con has been going on for 3 years now and I just find out about 2 weeks ago, And I live on the same street it's on, huh.
    Looking forward to Saturday
