Xbox 360 Price Cut For Australia On Sept 22

Following this morning’s news of an incoming Xbox price drop around the world, Microsoft has now confirmed Australia will follow suit some three weeks later.

Timed to coincide with the Halo 3: ODST launch day, from September 22 the Xbox 360 Elite will drop $100 to $449. And if you buy an Elite up until October 20, you will also get a free copy of Halo 3: ODST, effectively pricing the console a further $100 lower.

The new Elite price puts it $50 below the new PS3 price point of $499 and, remarkably, on par with the PSPgo handheld.

The Pro console will remain at $399 “while supplies last”. The Arcade, too, will remain at its current price point of $299.
