Peter Moore: No More NASCAR Games From EA

In an interview, EA Sports boss Peter Moore says his division's plans for doing more NASCAR games have, like Ray Earl Don's No. 78 Chevy in turn four at Rockingham, blew up.

"There are no plans right now for NASCAR from EA," Moore told GameSpot. Moore said the people who worked on EA's NASCAR titles in the past had to be sent over to to work on another project. He adds:

Unfortunately … we had to make some tough trade-offs. We've had to redeploy some of those folks. A number of the NASCAR team has moved over now to EA Sports MMA, which will be shipping next year. [We're]still a huge fan of NASCAR, but no plans right now to develop any further games for NASCAR from EA Sports.

So, NASCAR fans, you may blame MMA fans. There are two constituencies I'd love to see go at it. Hell, make that into a video game. EA: 'No Plans' for New NASCAR Game [GameSpot via G4]

    MMA > Nascar.

At least the MMA guys know how to move to the right ;)

NASCAR games were a bit crap, like cricket games, so it's not that big a deal. Like to see some NASCAR in another good game, like Forza or GRiD.

If you don't like NASCAR don't watch it or play it . Ignore it , walk away . What is wrong with " a Southern accent " or any other accent ? Why even mention it ?
No disrespectful comments are needed (there is far to much of that in the world ) . Who are " the fools ? " " the rude ' rednecks ' " ?

Certainly not any of the highly educated and successful NASCAR fans like me and most of the other fans I know .
NASCAR is watched in 150 countries in 23 languages . NASCAR is not just " Southern " .
NASCAR is the most viewed motorsport here in Canada
(sorry F1 fans , these things can be measured and don't use the " time difference " excuse ,
there are same day tape delay broadcasts and if you are a " fan " of something you would watch it
    no matter what)
Stock car racing in general is popular here in Canada . There are alot of paved and dirt ovals all over Canada (and Canada has a small population) .
World champion drivers from around the world including several from F1 have driven , are driving and want to drive NASCAR.
None of them have " dominated " . Heck , most have not even won a race after several years of trying (more experience needed , they will get there , eventually ) .
If it is so " boring " and " easy " why are International world champion drivers constantly lining up to get a drive ?
And don't say money . You think NASCAR drivers like Montoya , Villeneuve , Tracy , etc etc that have tens of millions in the bank plus tens of millions worth of assests and get paid millions just to wear a logo on their uniforms care about money ?
Or do they want to compete against the best and show how good they are ?
