Shadow Complex Sets Xbox Live Sales Record

Chair Entertainment's Shadow Complex is officially the most downloaded single-player title in Xbox Live Arcade history, with 200,000 copies purchased since the game went live on August 19.

We loved Shadow Complex, and so did you folks apparently, with stellar review scores and one-week sales so spectacular that Microsoft had to issue a celebratory press release. Multiplayer titles dominate Xbox Live Arcade, and single-player games generally don't perform nearly as well, but Chair seems to have knocked this one out of the park.

"Congratulations to Chair Entertainment and Epic Games for creating an outstanding game," said Scott Austin, director of digitally distributed games at Microsoft. "As the capstone title of the second annual Summer of Arcade program, "Shadow Complex" has raised the bar for downloadable games. We're proud to offer such high-quality content on Xbox LIVE Arcade."

I found the game to be one of the most complete game offerings ever made available on Xbox Live Arcade. I would have easily paid full price for it, which makes the 1200 Microsoft point ($15) so much sweeter. If you've not yet played it, it comes highly recommended.

I tried the demo for the game just to see what the fuss was about and I'm glad I did. This game is awesome. Really sets the bar for arcade games.

Excellent game, downloaded it 2 days ago and played for an hour or so last night. Easily worth the points spent. Anyone with XBL, BUY THIS GAME!

Yeah it's good, I don't know if full retail game price would have been realistic though, unless they had made it longer.

Excellent game, managed to finish it with 100% items on Saturday night, make that Sunday morning. Definitely hooked me with some serious marathon sessions playing it. Have to try the challenge rooms now.

    Needs a STEAM release. :)

Tried the demo on the weekend, was really impressed. I'll pick it up at some point for sure.

I haven't had the time to check out or even DOWNLOAD any of the new releases. May have to give it a download then try it out this week.

Any chance of MS releasing some FIGURES for their stuff? Or do MS, Sony & Nintendo not like releasing actual numbers because some may not sell as much as others and could seem embarrassing? I mean XBL is huge, so i don't see the fuss.
