Tim Cahill is the cover star of Australia’s number one selling game this week, as FIFA 10 knocks the Master Chief-less ODST off top spot.

Again it’s the PS3 version of a high profile multi-format game that charts highest, with the 360 version at number three and the Wii all the way down at number ten on the Wii chart.

It’s odd seeing PS3 and 360 games occupy the top three places, and even odder not having Wii Play in there at all.

For those wondering about Scribblenauts, it just missed out on the all formats top ten, coming in behind Layton in the DS chart.

All Format Full-Priced Games Top 10 for the w/e October 4:

1. FIFA 10 (PS3)
2. Halo 3: ODST (360)
3. FIFA 10 (360)
4. Wii Fit (Wii)
5. Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box (DS)
6. Toy Story Mania (Wii)
7. Need For Speed: Shift (PS3)
8. Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
9. Mario Party 8 (Wii)
10. Mario Kart (Wii)

  • wow, i thought most people in aus had xbox not ps3. whats the aussie console owner situation? plz post chart 😀

  • WHAT?!?! PS3 versions outselling XBOX360 versions? No Wii game in the top 3?!?!

Has it started snowing in hell as well???

    I’M FREAKING OUT MAN!!!!!!!!!

    • This is the start of a new age!

I didn’t think sports games were THIS popular, now EA can use the massive profits to remove the R18+ rating!… right?

    • I wonder if their casual-gaming market does drop in popularity, but as long as they can churn out mass-casual ideas, I think they’ll always be #1.

It’s sad, because a heap of other devs/whoever are going to follow suit and probably take a lot of complexity out of their games to also capitalize on the profits.

  • If only PS3 and 360 fanboys could put their flame war behind them and band together to banish all Nintendo titles from our top 10. I would dance a happy dance on that day…

…then play Halo 3 nonstop because it like totally pwnzors Killzone 2.

  • It’s funny how everyone jumps to the conclusion that the 360 is a big fail in Australia judging purely on the result of first week sales of a game.

Besides, this has no numbers so we don’t even know the actual result 100%.
