It's a point-and-click adventure game taking its cue from the likes of Samorost rather than LucasArts. Screens are self-contained puzzles involving often elaborate and always contrived interactions. For example, to wake your brother in the opening scene, you must shoot him with your slingshot... but only when the fly is buzzing right above his head.
It can get a little obtuse, and you will end up clicking randomly on every interactable object, but it also looks quite lovely so you won't mind spending a little longer than strictly necessary in its twisted little world.
