Borderlands An "Important, Long-Term Franchise" For Take-Two

With developer Gearbox Software calling a Borderlands sequel a "no-brainer" and the title called out as one of the few bright spots on publisher Take-Two Interactive's earnings sheet, more talk of more Borderlands shouldn't surprise you.

Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said during today's quarterly earnings update that the role-playing shooter, which had a "successful launch," shows signs of "becoming an important long-term franchise" for the company. That's not official confirmation of a Borderlands 2, but it's about as close as we're going to get.

Given Borderlands development delays and Take-Two's increasing inability to ship many of its "AAA" calibre titles on time, just don't expect that Borderlands 2 to show up any time soon.

If Borderlands is so important to Gearbox Software then why have they not released or even announced release of the DLC for PC versions?

Borderlands is an awesome game. Ill be hanging for Borderlands 2 but keep the content coming for the 1st game.

One thing i would like to see is more NPC's. There needs to be more friendlies in game just to give it a bit more atmosphere.

If they do do a Borderlands continuation, let's hope they actually develop a PC version this time? That GameSpy [redacted] was the most useless multiplayer I've seen in ages. Just go Steamworks, guys, seriously.

theres no dlc for the pc version because it probably makes up about 5 percent of the total sales of this game. just like every other pc/multiplatform game.

Yeah if I had any suggestion for the sequel it would be to put more of those really great but short cut scenes. The DLC seemed to be a step towards doing this and had me laughing out loud at points.

Count me as on board this franchise.

I would hope they would fix the many many issues with Borderlands before thinking about a sequel!

Likewise. Borderlands on most platforms is STILL buggy as hell.
