First Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on Brings Back Bill, Francis, Zoey and Louis

Valve has revealed the first downloadable addition to Left 4 Dead 2, a new episode named "The Passing". The campaign, set after the events of "Dead Centre", features a meet up between Ellis, Coach, Rochelle, Nick and Bill, Francis, Zoey and Louis.

"The Passing" offers more than just a friendly Survivor get-together, adding one new "uncommon common" infected type, new weapons and "a new co-operative challenge mode of play". The new campaign will naturally be playable in Survival, Versus and Scavenge modes in addition to that still unannounced newer mode.

Left 4 Dead 2's "The Passing" is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2010 for the PC and Xbox 360. Pricing has not yet been announced.

    8 player co-op?

Yay, the original four. Was hoping they'd get around to doing that.

    i missed zoey and louis

"Pricing has not been announced." Hopefully that is just standard on any DLC talk, I can't recall ever paying for any Valve updates and if you had to in this game then I'm glad I never dropped any cash on it.

I'm assuming that the pricing relates to the XBox version, from memory the console players have to pay for additional content because Microsoft won't let Valve release it for free.

Even if it is pay-to-play DLC, it's better than a subscription. As long as it's reasonably priced for what it is, I'm happy to pay money for extra content. There's no real reason that it should be free, is there? People still had to work on it, and it still cost money to develop.

It's when companies try to sell me something at a higher price than in another region (why hello there, Gearbox >:|), or try to sell me a sword which costs nothing and evaporates in a week that I get angry.

I hope they do a quick port of all L4D1 stuff into L4D2 :) then the userbase wont be split

Exactly what I was hoping they WOULDN'T do.
