Tuper Tario Tros. Puts A Little Tetris In Your Mushroom Kingdom

A mash-up of Super Mario Bros. and Tetris should - or at least could - be the best video game of all time, given how strong each title is independently. But is that marriage of gameplay styles enjoyable in practice?

It certainly doesn't make for a good name, but Tuper Tario Tros. - seriously! - at least makes for an interesting concept. The Flash-based game recreates most of Super Mario Bros. World 1-1, letting the player fill in the blanks and reach new heights by dropping tetriminoes from a Lakitu to build new platforms and drop mushrooms.

Tuper Tario Tros. is a fun experiment, but after years of being conditioned to press the space bar to jump, it's not the easiest thing in the world to play. But play it anyway.

This is awesome. Needs to be polished more, but still, awesome. A mash-up of two of the best games ever, no doubt about it.

Awesome just awesome! I'm impressed with how polished it actually is. It is probably worthy of a DS game of its own, with a few more features, maybe using yoshi to suck up blocks you can't use.

Very well polished, but not that puzzling. A bit tedious putting down all the blocks when you wanna keep running as Mario - but decent anyway :)

Awesomeness. This guy deserves an award - seriously awesome idea joining Mario and Tetris. Not so hot on the name, but an awesome idea.

This has got me wondering what else you could mash up - similar to Puzzle Quest really.

That is trippy to get your head around... but heaps fun! The soundtracks are perfect too... bring back so many memories.

    Glad someone finally did this.
I tried to do it in 2007 on Game Maker (being a flash noob)and it didn't really work out. It was basically the same game, just didn't feel as right.

At least I can say "Wow, I thought of this once :D" instead of "wish I thought of that ._."
