LittleBigPlanet Is Also Playable... In 3D!!!

Sony was among the many home electronics makers getting behind the 3D revolution at CES 2010, offering a handful of PlayStation 3 games playable in 3D. The latest PS3 game to get the 3D makeover? LittleBigPlanet.

Media Molecule's DIY platformer joins games like Super Stardust HD and Gran Turismo 5 as one of many possible titles that could be playable in three dimensions later this year when Sony issues new PS3 firmware. Eurogamer got a chance to see LittleBigPlanet in action, a game that could benefit more than others with greater visual depth.

Eurogamer teases more information about the 3D version of LittleBigPlanet in the coming - currently the best implementation of aftermarket 3D - are there any PlayStation 3 games you'd like to see in 3D?

    Mortal Kombat 2

    Nah seriously...

    Mortal Kombat 2

Didn't they demo WipeoutHD3D last year?

    That's all I want.

Dragon Ball Raging Blast; looks amazing already, would love to feel like I'm in the action.

How does it work, does the console have to render separate frames or is there hardware trickery involved?

I was of the impression that devices need to be conntected to your 3DTV using HDMI 1.4 and that a software updates cannot upgrade HDMI in your devices and the PS3 is NOT 1.4 so...

    How exactly does this work?

One thing sony has to aknowledge is that most people wouldn't justify in spending numerous thousands of $$$ in something that at the moment is just a fancy gimmick used to pull crowds. It probably wont be for another 5 - 10 years for 3D be fully utilised and not need goofy glasses. So if sony is making 3D avalible only to special 3D TVs then its really only a waste of time, money and resources trying to incorparate a fancy but ultimatly useless technology that only a privelaged few can access.

But the games i would like to see in 3D is Bioshock 2, Crysis 2 and yes Gran Turismo 5

Sony must make mores fun GAMES for young gamers.
Where have the young gamers gone? to Wii & DS Land.
All this focus on adult games and forget about the young gamers! How can the PS3 with all its technological prowess screw up on this department. LBP is a great effort but not enough. Its a drop on the ocean. Don’t forget the basics.

I still believe in the proper balance of young and adult games for a videogame console to succeed.
