PC Sales Charts: Oh, Hello 2010

After a Christmas break, we're back this week with some PC sales charts, outlining some of the big sellers (or at least big revenue earners) of the new year period.

Since both Steam and Direct2Drive had big sales on over the holiday season, these charts are all screwy. But screwy in a good way! Great seeing games like Borderlands, Mass Effect and Torchlight stick it to the bigger December titles.

With Mass Effect 2 obviously being a pre-order, does that count as an actual SALE.

For instance, when the chart shows the sales of the wee Mass Effect 2 is released, will the sales of pre-orders count in that list? Cause not all pre-orders are paid 100% in advance. Well, i'm unsure on Direct2Drive.

But thats why Pre-orders should be kept separate to not confuse with actual sales for certain weeks.

But these are digital pre-orders not retail pre-orders (or does D2D give you an option for pay now or later?)

very true, i have put down $0 deposit pre-orders in the past!

Was nice of the guys at Valve to put L4D2 on sale throughout the holiday. Tossed my money in their direction straight away when I saw it for 33% off.

yeh spent $130 on steam over the sale picking up all the games i told myself i would buy as i finished them after getting them at lans.
    thanks valv clean conscince.
