Apparently the presence of SecuROM isn't quite the scandal it was with the original game; 2K say it'll be used "only as a disc check method for the retail copy of BioShock 2", though sceptics should be aware that there'll still be a five-system install limit on the game.

Surely 2K must know how much trouble they had in the first Bioshock when that had only 5 activations.

IMO PC is becoming a dying platform with all the shit that is needed just to play the damn game where all that is needed for the console games is just the game and a console, not GFWL and you dont have to activate it online.

A prime example of a pain in the arse install was GTA IV, first it was Rockstar social club and sign up for that, then GFWL just to save the F***ING game.

Even if the specs look low, to get "good" graphics you'll need to exceed the recommended settings.

i believe i have the specs to run at full but you cant always go by these recommended specs. the game may not play at FULL BORE on my machine even though its quite nice so I have ordered both for console.

Wow, no-where near as steep as i was expecting, especially for AvP. My 3 year old system meets the recommended specs

Hell. Re Bioshock's last dot point - this is why I've moved to console gaming. Installing extra programs, have to be connected to the net just to install the game...sod it.

Well since I'm planning on picking this up through Steam, I'd assume that the windows live stuff doesn't affect that.....right?

Hmm, comp's 2.2, hopefully that'll still manage to run it.

of course it does... Bioshock 2 is a GFWL game... therefore even via steam it will install/require GFWL to be installed.

i personally don't care and it actually made me buy it... i love GFWL :p

Geeez. Consoles really have halted PC gaming tech in the P4 era haven't they. I guess to some it might seem good that ancient computers can run new games, but what about those of us who like computers... and upgrade them? Reward? Apparently not :(

Even the recommended requirements are weak!

battlefield bad company 2 looks like the pc game to rock the senses.

    Eh. GFWL. Do not want.

I've heard horror stories about save games getting wiped when moving from offline mode to online mode.

Still, I think wife will buy it for me so it looks like I will have no choice. Just another thing to use resources when I don't need it to.
