Mega Lo Mania, so way ahead of its time as a game. I only played this a few months ago via emulator, but yeah its awesome.
I’m pretty sure this is Mega Lo Mania! I remember playing this on my Amiga. Great game. I remember a few games like this coming out after Populous did.
WONDERFUL ERGONOMICS! Mega Lo Mania is another piece of those warm, golden memories I have from my childhood. THE MINE’S BEEN DESTROYED! Ahem, addictive gameplay, intuitive controls and just plain fun. Another memory from a similar, larger franchise game (a sequel infact) is ADKIUCKBZNZEFIWX . I’ll never forget that code. TOWER CRITICAL!
megalomaniac on the amiga. great fun. could never finish the last level due to a poor tech tree decision earlier in the game.
Finally I’m first for one of these.
MEGA LO MANIA. Amiga version. Looks like you’re playing as Oberon and are allied with Scarlet against Caesar
Ha, I chuckled at this. You can’t presume a ‘first’ until your comment has been approved, posted and you’ve seen it on the page… especially not on New Year’s Day, when I’m impressed to see DW up and posting at 9:30!
Just because no one else has quoted it:
“Ergonomically terrific!”
I heard that somewhere else recently and can’t remember where. Another game used the sample I think.
Sensible Software made some amazing games, but I agree with the others above: it really was the sound effects and voice samples that made this game stand out. I still ask people “would you like to go on my team?” with an effeminate lilt…
