The Battle Of Forli Was A Costly Battle Indeed

Centuries from now historians will still speak of Assassin's Creed II's Battle of Forli, a downloadable battle that cost countless lives, and 99,999 Microsoft points.

Assassin's Creed II's Battle of Forli DLC is now available for purchase on the Xbox 360, but at what cost? Several Kotakuites who've attempted to purchase the new content from within Assassin's Creed II are seeing a bit of a price hike, from the actual 320 Microsoft point price ($US3) to 99,999 Microsoft points, or $US12,500.

We've pinged Microsoft for comment on the discrepancy and are awaiting a response, but likely this is just a glitch. If you need to purchase the downloadable content and don't want to spend an arm and several legs, try going through Xbox Live Marketplace directly, or just buy it online over the internet via

I warned you all this would happen if you kept buying DLC, now microsoft can charge all kinds of crazy prices!

But all they have to do is sell a couple at that price and theyve made money.
Its the luxury car sales technique.

I saw this when it finally turned up last night and gave me a laugh - M$ up to their usual tricks. Then I saw the size of the download and started swearing - still can't get a bigger hard drive, cleaned everything I can think of off mine but only have 318 MB spare.
M$ when are we getting at least an announcement on the hard drives? (probably at a ridiculous price no less). Until then I will save my 99,999 points!

At least on the plus side, a download of that size means that these sequences weren't already on the disc, and we are paying just to unlock them.

But what Im wondering is. . .
The game goes from sequence 11 to 14? Skipping 12 and 13.
Was the game too big for the disc so they pulled a couple of sequences out?

The official explanation is, I believe, is that Sequence 12 and 13 (the Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities) were pulled due to time constraints.

I think I red this somewhere aswell, not only did they run out of time to have it ready for the busy xmas trade period, but also got another studio to work on the Assasin Tomb levels. Meh I think I will pass, the lest they couldve done was added more trophies.

i wonder if anyone was crazy enough to buy it?:D

I reckon that they were always going to release some DLC. virtually all big games have it nowadays.
