Why I Am Alive's Been Delayed

When a game is as oft-delayed as Ubisoft's I Am Alive, it raises questions. Has it been cancelled? Are there production issues? Does it need a better title? All of those are valid, but only one is the actual reason.

And it's number two! Step on down number two and, speaking through Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot, tell us why it is exactly we've head almost nothing from you since being first announced.

Turns out Ubisoft "has been totally re-engineering the product", Guillemot revealed last week. Which means most previous work was scrapped when the game moved engines, from... whatever had been powering it to the same engine under the good of the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Onwards and upwards, then, for the game with the new engine and the promise that, yes, it's still actually being worked on.

Well to me, thats good news. I've seen nothing but great from Conviction so far!!

Will looks pretty too i guess!
Wonder if it's changed courses on what the games is about also then...

Ooh I hope this game ends up being A) Completed & B) Good. Survivor game that isn't exclusively horror and has no zombies? Hell YES I'm interested

EVERYbody knows that the only reason the post-apocalyptic world has crumbling, toppling buildings, is cos Zombies are about.

Do i smell another Duke Nukem Forever here.

"most previous work was scrapped when the game moved engines, from… whatever had been powering it to the same engine under the good of the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction."

Isnt this the way that Duke Nukem Forever began its sad, sad spiral downwards?

Ah but it was an upward spiral - to shiny shiny oblivion.

i would say it might not be the best time for it to come out after the earthquake in Haiti. it might not be considered good taste that it isn't being released in the direct aftermath of it.
