Aliens Vs Predator Multiplayer Demo For Everybody

We knew there would be a demo coming for Sega and Rebellion's Aliens Vs Predator, but we didn't know when it would be showing up. Does tomorrow work for you?

Not only have Sega and Rebellion surprised us with the announcement of an online multiplayer demo for the update to 1999's hit first-person shooter Aliens Vs Predator, but they are bringing the demo out for all three platforms - PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC - tomorrow.

The online multiplayer demo allows players to take on the role of an Alien, Predator or Colonial Marine, testing their skills against others in Deathmatch mode on the game's Refinery map.

"Multiplayer was a huge part of our original AVP game back in 1999, and we've kept the spirit of that classic experience in creating the multiplayer for our new Aliens Vs Predator. With the demo now gamers can get to grips with each of the three iconic species so they can hone their skills and be ready for when the game launches and battle commences," said Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion.

The demo will be released on Steam for PC players, with consoles owners picking it up via the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.

This gives us 11 days to learn the art of killing with our preferred faction before the game's February 16th North American release. I won't mention which faction I'll be playing, but I'll give a hint: I might put my tongue through your brain. No, I'm not hitting on you.

do we have any confirmation of this demo coming out on the australian PSN as well this week?

I've played it through steam and it feels unfinished.

It is fun to play, but the alien class needs improvement with the movement upon all surfaces, trying to go the long way around to hunt people can be really tricky, of and everything is very bright in their view. This gives you a false sense as to whether or not you can be seen.

The demo is an 8 player FFA, and i must say that was a terrible decision to make because no one wants to be a marine, this mode will MOST LIKELY be the least popular when the game launches.

Your best bet would be to check blog.eu.playstation.com later tonight, its usually posted after 9pm.

Its due out on the EU store so we should get it. The blog post on the site will confirm it though.

    hell yes!

Does one need an account with Steam in order to download a demo from it?

@ Thomas Fulton: Yes, you'll need a steam account to download the demo.

The demo is now available on steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/34200

does anyone have system requirements for pc?

i'm getting avp on 360 and i want to play demo but i can't cause i don't have xbox live. so i might aswell try it out on pc but i don't know whether my system will run it.

One of the quickest ways to get people to cancel pre-orders is to releaase a multiplayer demo and not a single player demon.

Lots of people will play the multiplayer and will not know what to do, leaving a negative impression on the game.

I disagree, I'm sure people will be able to figure it out

    Hey,

anyone know how many MB/GB the demo will be?

    thx

    AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!

Best news I've heard all day. Didn't expect it be out so soon, but very welcomed. Don't have much space on my xbox though, might have to get the PC version.
