Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Will Feature WWII Level

The newly published ESRB ratings certificate for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 mentions that "players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day".

Earlier, we mentioned that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 would support weapons from last year's Battlefield: 1943 (pictured above). It sounds like this could be a beginning mission establishing the BFBC2 continuity, not a flashback level. But it could be that DICE is testing community reaction to the World War II genre, which of course many have complained is played out within FPSes. That said EA's ramping up a competitor to Modern Warfare, and this might tip off ideas of going after World at War.

No surprises in the rest of the certificate. "Characters use profanity (e.g., "f**k," "sh*t," and "a*shole") during cutscenes and in the heat of battle." As I said, no surprises.

Well that explains why there is a Garand and a Thompson in the multiplayer I guess.

Would be good to see the latest version of Wake Island in BC2 "blow everything up" gameplay.

you CAN blow up most of it
just not bunkers and terrain in any major way

I dunno about that, there's some pretty big holes in the road, making it very hard to ride the quad bike on it in the multiplayer so there is terrain deformation to a certain degree.

This game is so [email protected]#king awesome, they could put a level in with fluffy bunnies, rainbows and pixies and proclaim how utterly camp they were and I'd still buy it. The demo is the most fun I've ever had playing a game and that's a relatively shoehorned level. Just wait until we get into the maps that are wide open. OMG I cannot wait another month for this game to come out. MW2 is a pathetic excuse for a sequel, this is how it's done.
