Darkest Of Days To Become Darkest Of Movies

Proving once again that game review scores don't matter to movie producers, a movie version of 8monkey Labs' time travel shooter Darkest of Days is being shopped around, with the writers of The Rock attached to craft the screenplay.

With a Game Rankings index of 47.80 per cent, Darkest of Days didn't exactly set the video game world on fire, so news that Douglas Cook and David Weisberg, the writers behind Sean Connery vehicle The Rock, are working on a screenplay for a movie adaptation comes as a bit of a surprise. According to an article on /Film, Alice in Wonderland's Joe Roth will be producing the film, and CAA is shopping the project around to various Hollywood studios.

It seems odd, but the more I think about it, it could work. Story was the best thing Darkest of Days had going for it, and who doesn't want to see a movie about one of Custer's soldiers recruited from the past to travel through time, uncovering a sinister plot of sorts?

I still maintain Darkest of Days was unfairly treated, being compared to the likes of multi-million dollar titles like Call of Duty. It wasn't reviewed on its own merits at all.

I can't wait for the game based on the movie based on this game.

Lol... maybe a shitty game makes a good movie?

a good choice I think would be Wentworth miller as Alexander morris, Olivia wilde as like his wife or his lover the first six minutes of the film before he goes off to war, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as agent dexter, the guy that plays Alan Bradley in the tron movies, and terrence stamp as the mystery man that kills the doctor at the end of the game. But that's just me I'm just saying in case it ends up as a direct to DVD title any questions email me at [email protected]
