Final Fantasy VII Remake Looking Less Likely?

Square Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura doesn't believe a Final Fantasy VII remake will happen "for some time". He isn't alone.

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase is equally pessimistic about the prospects of a Final Fantasy VII remake. The reason? "This issue is related to whether a Final Fantasy 7 remake will happen or not," Kitase told Ultimania magazine. "It is very hard to make games on PlayStation 3 in the same style as the games in that era had. Making graphics will take enormous time."

Longer than Final Fantasy XIII?

The source of all the FFVII remake talk harks beck to 2006, when Square Enix released a "technical demo" depicting the game as it would look in the PlayStation 3. The game was originally released on the PlayStation 1 in 1997.

Square Enix's Nomura has mentioned that even though the chances of a FFVII could be a ways off, the character Cloud could get cameos in other titles.

    If they did make a FF7 redo. I would buy a PS3.

I'm not game designer, but it couldn't be that hard could it? It doesn't need to be updated, just give us the good old FFVII

PSN log in, download it, play it.

I honestly don't care all that much if they do remake it, but from a business standpoint I don't see why they aren't doing it. Even if it was terrible you would sell a million copies on the name alone.

Possibly one of the reasons could be that many people will want an update of a classic, meaning that everything would have to be updated to near perfection. This may mean that there is extra pressure as there is a huge fanbase to live up to, a pressure that square enix may be, understandably, unwilling to take.

If they make a ff9 remake or even just release it for download like they did with ff8 ill get a psp or ps3

Lets put it this way did any of you see the FF7 Character rendered in GL? It made the characters smooth at any resolution (which looked good)... if Square could dig back in the well, find higher resolution backdrops (I'm sure they have them) and compiled the same game again I'd be all for it.

I don't a PS3, but if an updated version of FF7 which looked good on a HDTV was released, i'd be all over it.
