Left 4 Dead 2 Update, Zombie Bots Are Go

Valve has issued the latest update to its cooperative and competitive zombie killing sim Left 4 Dead 2, with changes that are sure to delight the Boomer in you.

The newly issued patch, now available on Steam and arriving for Xbox 360 owners in "an upcoming title update", deals away with the dreaded "auto spawn" feature during finales. Plus, it adds Special Infected bots, a change that will help fill out the zombie side when playing with fewer than four players.

The slightly bad news is that Valve has also reduced the effectiveness of melee weapons against the Tank. If you don't have the Tank Burger achievement, Xbox 360 gamers, better get it quick. There are plenty of additional, less exciting changes - though "Improved SurvivorBot AI" is never a bad thing - if you'd like to read 'em at the official Steam site.

Left 4 Dead 2 and the Left 4 Dead 2 SDK Update Released [Steam]

ok, so they announced plans for this patch on January 23rd, it's going to be hitting 360 February. The game was released November 17th 2009, I week after Modern Warfare 2. 3 months later Steam is adding superfluous patches and IW is still screwing around with the 360 patch for Modern Warefare 2 region matchmaking, blaming delay on the Microsoft approval process. shame, shame, shame.

      To IW's defense (though i shouldn't)

Valve have a close relationship with MS compared to what IW does. L4D2 is a 360 console exclusive.

Valve tend to look after their fans a bit more than IW.

L4D2 isn't an Xbox exclusive... It's also on PC.

Console exclusive... meaning it exclusive to the 360 and not PS3 or Wii.

PC is a platform, not a console.

Its hardly a 360 exclusive, more like a PC game ported to console

valve is a god when updating games.

The irony in L4D2 is that that the PC demo was an aweful console port, but I'd have to say that no Valve game is really on xbox, I think they hate it as much as the ps3, you want support goto PC.
