Raven (And I) Need You!

Tomorrow I'm writing up my review of Playstation 3's MAG. But today, today I need to earn my command stripes and spend an inordinate amount of time playing the game.

Unlike our typical reviews, games with heavy multiplayer aspects, like massively multiplayer online titles and online-only games, get a bit of a different approach. We revisit the game after our review, but most noticeably, we hold off on reviewing the game the day it hits, instead giving it a bit of time to breath, and more importantly, more time for us to test out all of the modes, all of the skills, all of the onlininess of the game.

With MAG, that means hitting level 15 so you can unlock the ability to command squads. So today, I'll be playing MAG for most of the afternoon, telling people what to do and hoping that, unlike at Kotaku Tower, they listen.

Off to yell at people but, hopefully, not shoot or run them over.

    Command is a very interesting aspect.
    As long as you know what youre doing, it can make being in command very fun.

    I think the problem with some commanders is that they dont expect their squad to act as their eyes and ears, and vice versa.
    That is the biggest problem, especially with a squad full of strangers.

    BTW, tip.
    When defending(on acquisition) grab an APC, and put it on the front line, put a frag marker ontop of it and drive it around.

    Voila!
    A mobile command point for extra points, not only to give kill bonus for your squad members, but also make them go where YOU want them to go.
