Remember This?

Can you guess this old game from just one screenshot?

I'll update this post with the answer at 5pm today if no one has guessed before then. Or if you do guess it before then, feel free to share your memories of this old, old game. Who owned a TRS-80?

Good luck!

Looks like popcorn. I had a TRS-80, still do. I think that's what it was called.

Yes, Popcorn, definitely. On the TRS-80 Colour Computer 1. Or maybe you know it as the Dragon 32. Spent many an hour catching those kernels.

Whoa. Seamus pulling out the big guns.

No idea on the game, but I'd definitely lean towards one of the older systems - Tandy, BBC etc.

The blue and orange graphics make me think of the Apple II +/e.

As to the game it looks like a game I've seen on other systems... Bomb, Bombdrop, something like that? Bombs drop from the top of the screen that you have to catch before they hit the bottom. The higher you catch them the more points you get. And I seem to remember one version having a column of buckets to catch with instead of just the lines you see in the screenshot.

Looks like the same sort of game as Kaboom on Atari or Sky is Falling on the Vic20.

Wait, has anyone managed to get the answer? Has Seamus stumped us all?

nm and george were right on. It is Popcorn from the TRS-80 Color Computer (CoCo). I played this myself on a CoCo2. I still have that computer in a cupboard. Aaah, my first computer...
