AU Diary: Playing Catch-Up

As you know, I've been on leave for a few weeks. And even before that, I hadn't been spending a great deal of time in the office. This means I've got a lot of catching up to do.

I just wanted to take a moment to assure anyone still awaiting: a) the announcement of the winners of some recent competitions that they're coming in the next day or two, and b) the delivery of their older competition prizes that they too will be coming shortly. For the most part I'm a one-man team here at Kotaku. So when I'm not here, there's no one around to ensure these things get done.

There's also plenty of catch-up required on all the games that have released recently. I came into the office this morning to find boxed copies of Metro 2033, Resonance of Fate, Yakuza 3, the Sonic Classic Collection, Sega & Sonic All-Stars Racing, Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening, God of War III and Command & Conquer 4 sitting on my desk (and listed in order of how interested I am to check them out). Plus, preview code of ModNation Racers and Dead to Rights: Retribution. Plus, word that Splinter Cell: Conviction review code was on its way and an offer to get some hands-on with Alan Wake and interview with Remedy. Oh, and my E3 media registration was approved. That's plenty to keep me busy, I would say.

Finally, I'd like to thank Seamus and Jung for filling in for me on the post-writing side of things while I've been away these past couple of months. Hopefully, at some point in the near future, you'll be seeing more of their posts alongside my own. That's the plan, anyway.

It's good to be back.

Dave no need to worry about anything, I am more than willing to offer you my assistance. In fact I'd be quite happy to take those games off your hands and give them a run :P Of course I'd be quite happy to quit my job if thats the sort of dedication you require! BUT if you so wish not to take advantage of this great offer, I would still be willing to quit my job...mainly because I want to, but more importantly I can recognise when a fellow gamer is in need :)

    PA anyone?

    Welcome back, Dave.
If you want any help reviewing Command and Conquer 4, Yakuza 3, Sonic Classic Collection or Resonance fate, send them my way.
Just to help ease your workload while you catch up, of course.

So, how important is Kotaku AU compared to Kotaku US?

Its good to have you back man, take your time =D

Thanks a lot for this post David, keeping us all up to date.

    All the best, man.

Give that preview of ModNation Racers a burl it looks like promising stuff.

    Welcome back, Goose!

    Welcome back!

Send some games my way too. Always ready to help out. ;)

Oh how you like to jest and torment us with your wacky 'priority lists' :p

    Choosing Sonic Classic Collection... over...

    Sega & Sonic All-Stars Racing
    Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening
    God of War III
    Command & Conquer 4

I agree that the Sonic games are classics, but another compilation over 3 original games + an expansion? tsk tsk! :p

and before anyone shoots me down on 'original', continuation of a story in sequel form is still counts! :p

I wonder how different the ModNation racers preview code is from the beta.

E3 media registration?, does that mean you will be heading off to LA to cover E3?.

yeah i noticed an drop in stuff when junglist was here but i guess thats just hes not used to the site like you are

good to have you back man

    and condolences for your dad
