Building The Ultimate Transformers Origin Story

In this video documentary for Transformers: War for Cybertron, the development team at High Moon Studios talk about bringing the Autobots and Decepticons back to Cybertron to tell a story never fully told.

With the team working closely with Hasbro, War for Cybertron is definitely Transformers canon, which is both good and bad news to fans. The bad news mainly applies to those who subscribe to one of the myriad origin stories for the Transformers, given to us in bits and pieces across countless comic books and animated features over the past 16 years or so.

The good news is that there are so many different sets of Transformers canon, that if you don't like this one, you can slough it off into one of the other timelines, say the one where Ratbat led the Decepticons and Optimus Prime was killed in a video game.

These guys made Darkwatch( a vampire cowboy fps on ps2/xbox) which i really loved so i'm fairly optimistic.

But the claim that not being tied to a movie will make the game better is debatable. The same claim was made with spiderman web of shadows (also published by activision) and it wasn't the best spiderman game.

Transformers who A) look like transformers and B) look cool are a good start.

I am not a fan of the Michael Bay look.

I would like a design your own Transformer mode, pick different robot bodies with a few transform options and a way of making a head out of bits and it could be very good online.
