Direct Sequel For Final Fantasy XIII?

For the uninitiated, Final Fantasy XIII might seem like the sequel to Final Fantasy XII. It's not. Each game is its own title, so if there was a FFXIII sequel, it would be FFXIII-2.

When asked about the chances of a direct FFXIII sequel, the game's producer Yoshinori Kitase replied, "In the past three years we worked both on the world and on the various systems. Creating these systems isn't very glamorous and can frankly be a bit boring." OK, go on.

"If we could do a XIII-2," the producer added, "we could direct all our attention to the story and refine what we have already built."

Square Enix has a precedent for this. Titles like FFX-2 and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, for example.

sequels are never any good.. FF should just stick with each title being different in my opinion *shrugs*

I see why you'd think that but I disagree.
Then again I'm one of few people (from what I gather, amongst my friends anyway) who really enjoyed FFX-2 and Revenant Wings.
Sequels expand on the universe and because some of the work has already been done (like character design) they can focus on other things and refine existing features.

Revenant Wings was tits, in my opinon.

So... was it good or bad? Because in my mind tits are grand, so are you saying the game was grand?

      Tits being awesome?

Actually, i'd say FFX-2 was tits. And arse...

FFX-2 battle system was actually enjoyable...
once you cut out the dressy cutscenes
the story was like a bad fan fic though...
    and heres a thought,
    Rikku and Yuna are cousins
Rikku and brother are brother and sister
brother is in love with Yuna...
    eww

To be fair, I love Final Fantasy Games. I started playing the FF7 and I was addicted to it.
