June 8 To Be A Green Day In Rock Band History

The second artist-centric Rock Band title now has a release date, with 47 tracks worth of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool coming to the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 8.

Like The Beatles: Rock Band, Green Day: Rock Band doesn't mess around with bands inspired by the California trio, instead offering 47 tracks' worth of Green Day goodness, from the early days of "Basket Case" to more recent hits like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." It'll have good old Green Day, charming and quirky middle-stage Green Day, and today's what-the-hell-happened Green Day, all rolled into one.

Green Day: Rock Band will retail for $US59.99 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions and $US49.99 for the Wii. Additionally, 360 and PS3 fans can purchase Green Day: Rock Band Plus for $US69.99, a special package that includes all of the Green Day Rock Band DLC, along with a voucher to export all 47 tracks into Rock Band proper.

The game will support the same three-part harmony vocals as The Beatles: Rock Band, also adding the same capability to the six tracks already available as DLC. Nifty!

So Green Day fans should mark down June 8 on their calendars, and remember - playing this game with four people is totally considered cheating.

personally, i cannot wait! im going to play the crap out of this game! am i retarded or am i just overjoyed?!

Jesus Christ Harmonix! You make a game about the gods of rock (The beatles, obviously) which was a incredibly fun experience due to the stylisation of the different periods of their career and then follow it up with trash like this?

    I am dissapoint son.

Nobody's making you buy it mate, so why do you care? It's not as though they're out to personally insult you, there's obviously the market out there for such a product to attract

Man I'm hanging out for this... been a big fan for many, many years and absolutely love ALL their albums. They just keep getting better and better IMO... I must admit their 'visual' style has changed to some controversy but they're doing what they wanna do and still producing great music even after all these years.

Great band, great accomplishments, I cant think of anyone else more deserving to follow The Beatles.

I'll buy that for a dollar!

    Well for $69
