I’m a sucker for the Castlevania series. So I was quite keen to sink my teeth into this moderately faithful browser rendition of the NES original. Oh, and look at those stick figure graphics!
Castlevania fans will immediately notice a few tweaks, beyond the obvious visual alterations. Pressing up to jump and walk up stairs is a bit awkward, while being able to control your jump mid-air is a handy concession to modern platforming.
Other than that, it plays well and possesses genuine charm. Give it a go.
