Aussie Nintendo Store: Somewhere Over The Rainbow Road

It’s a good Friday indeed as Super Mario Kart has hit the Australian Virtual Console in today’s update. This one has taken four months to reach our fair shores, translation these days takes forever. For only 800 points you get 20 classic tracks, Mode 7 graphics and of course, revolutionary splitscreen.

WiiWare and DSiWare too get pretty hefty updates as well. The first is Chronos Twins DX, originally a DS game, which unfortunately never sold any good despite being quite good. So they’ve taken it and given it a new lick of paint for WiiWare. Australian and Europe are also lucky to get it quite a bit cheaper than America as well; this one is only 700 points instead of 1000. The other WiiWare title this week is Family Mini Golf, if you’ve ever wanted to play mini golf with a over-the-top anime chick cheering you on, this is the way to do it. It’s only 500 points too.

There’s also three new titles for DSiWare (we’re missing one from the Euro list surprise surprise). Oscar in Movieland is the sequel to Oscar in Toyland which we actually never got here in Australia, but we’re getting this one and it’s a little bit better too. Instead of toys this time you’ll be exploring 7 different worlds based on movie themes. Each world has three levels. It’s a classic platformer which was originally on the SNES and Amiga. Not a bad choice this long weekend. Spaceball Revolution is the next game and it’s basically a port of the WiiWare version already out, it doesn’t have any multiplayer this time around but it is portable and costs 500 points.

AiRace Tunnel is your final game today, it’s as you would expect from the name a race down a tunnel. Think Paper Plane but in 3D. There is actually quite a bit in it for the mere 200 points it costs too. Puzzle to Go Diddl is the game we miss out on this week, I just wanted to add it because the title sounds hilarious.
