Is Harmony Of Despair A New Castlevania Adventure?

While developer Mercury Steam and Hideo Kojima whip up an all-new Castlevania console adventure in Lords of Shadow, what is the core Castlevania team up to? Maybe Castlevania: Harmony of Despair?

A new trademark filing for Harmony of Despair was spotted by Siliconera at the European trademark commission, submitted by Konami Digital Entertainment for the standard video game stuff& - "Video game software; video game programs; computer game software; computer game programs; electronic game programs."

Harmony of Despair sure sounds like one of those "Metroidvania" style Castlevania games, which have run with titles like Aria of Sorrow, Lament of Innocence and Portrait of Ruin. We've already had a Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, but it's been nearly eight years since that Game Boy Advance game. Maybe we're due for a sequel?

The last Castlevania game in that line of side-scrolling adventures was 2008's Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. I'd say we're due, but certainly not confirmed.

For some reason, i am not yet sick of all these metroidvanias.

    so sexy.

Aria of Sorrow was the sequel to Harmony of Dissonance.

Can it be for PSN and XBLA PLEASE !?!?!?
I'm sick of the DS hogging all these Castlevania gems !

        Buy a DS...

        PSP at least!

Based on the name, this sounds like an actual sequel to Harmony of Dissonance (Aria of Sorrow wasn't the sequel to HoD, it was merely the game that came after it). After all, the sequel to Aria of Sorrow was Dawn of Sorrow, so we can expect a naming theme for story-based sequels.

Metroidvanias are the best Castlevanias, and I can't wait for this one.

i would like to see that new castlevania come out :( it's just that it's been 1 year since order of ecclesia comes out but i beaten all of titles that comes out 100% compete.... all souls, glyphs and moves... i would like to see what this game is on about...?

They just need to put in as much interesting stuff as SotN had.

Things like fighting game moves really added to the experience.

It made the game feel bigger having a variety of different things to collect rather than just souls or just glyphs.

Ecclesia was the only metroidvania i gave up on , oh and circle of the moon but that just doesn't count.
