Star Wars, Like You've Never Seen It Before

Star Wars games have often tried to paint the franchise in a different light, from Super Star Wars' over-abundance of bad guys to LEGO Star Wars' fondness of plastic dismemberment. But these animation shorts, these are different.

These short clips, made late last year, are part of the excellent "Star Wars Uncut" project, and are the work of Canadian artist Malcolm Sutherland. They're still "Star Wars", just... not as you've seen it before. Unless you've a burned out old hippy or a resident of Machinarium.

You know, I'm looking forward to the day, decades from now, when people are allowed to make more serious projects like this, really try and re-imagine the series. There are hundreds of different takes on Hamlet out there; no reason people can't try and do Star Wars in a different light either.

It's kind of like "Salad Fingers" meets Star Wars.
