Adaptor Plays Game Boy Titles Through The NES

Here's Retrovision, and it looks like something a friend of mine did - jamming a CD adaptor into a cassette adaptor into the eight-track slot of a Dodge Colt's car stereo. Retrovision is about as practical, yet just as awesome.

Nintendo Age user Bunnyboy built this adaptor, which allows one to play Game Boy carts on your television through a Nintendo Entertainment System. Why someone would want to, or even should do something like that is beyond me, but I'll grant that it's 31 flavours of cool.

That said, consider carefully whether those monochromatic graphics up on a big screen is a trick worth $US130, because that's Bunnyboy's asking price for the device. "It's expensive: yup! Expensive parts, expensive development, lots of PITA assembly," he writes, justifying the cost.

Bunnyboy says he doesn't have any units for sale immediately, but should "after vacation" when he has more time to assemble them.

New Device Lets You Play GameBoy Games On Your NES [Never Know Tech]

    Dude hasn't seen this?

That's for the Super Nintendo though. This is for the regular Nintendo. Incidentally, I want one of these for my NES. Someone give me $130? haha.

A hundred and thirty bucks? What a rip! I had one of those on my SNES back when EVERYONE owned a SNES, and a Gameboy.

If I ever have the urge to play original game boy games on the original NES for the price it would cost me to buy both systems and about 20 games for each then I’ll be knocking on your door.

Or I could just buy one of those USB NES cartridge mods that allow me to play pretty much all NES and gameboy game roms for like 20 bucks.

They already have a device that does this, it's called the Wide Boy. it was out when the NES was, and it suffered because the GB had a higher resolution
