Aussie Nintendo Store: The Running Man

All hands on deck, this week’s update is jam-packed full of fun for everyone. Believe it or not, not only does the Virtual Console get updated but also the DSiWare and WiiWare library get another boost. This week’s update is so good that we even get a game before the Americans, and really how often does that happen?

Gaijin Games games have been kind enough to release their latest game in the Bit. Trip series first in Australia (and Europe). Bit. Trip Runner (pictured) is the latest retro flavoured rhythm game from Gaijin Games. Don’t let the old graphics fool you, this is deliberate, and for 800 points there is plenty of fun to be had.

The second WiiWare ‘title’ this week will only apply if you have previously bought the original Phoenix Wright WiiWare title, this DLC is 100 points and contains the last episode from the game. 100 points for another episode of Phoenix Wright? Probably only worth it if you really, really want to play it.

The sole Virtual Console title this week is Ghoul Patrol, the semi-sequel to Zombies Ate My Neighbors for the SNES. I say semi-sequel because it’s nowhere near as good as the first. At 800 points you would want to be a fan to pick it up.

For DSiWare today we get a grand total of two games; we miss out on Chronos Twins, Brain Drain and the billionth Sudoku game to hit the portable download service. So in other words the two that we did get are the ones you need to care about.

AirRace is a classic tunnel racer, these used to be popular a while back and this one is done well with stylus controls. Because we had to wait a while for it we get it for the cheaper price point of 500 points.

The second and final game for DSiWare this week is another retro inspired one. Fire Panic puts you into the hot role of a firefighter, you’ll be dousing fires with your stylus for a mere 200 points.

Good batch of games this week, what are you all picking up?

WiiWare
Bit.Trip Runner (Aksys) – 800 Points
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney DLC (Capcom) – 100 Wii Points

Virtual Console
Ghoul Patrol (SNES) – 800 Wii Points

DSiWare
Fire Panic (Playtainment) – 200 Points
AiRace (QubicGames) – 500 Points
