First Killzone 3 Screens, Official Details

Killzone 3 is coming to the PlayStation 3 in dazzling 3D, an exciting revelation made doubly official by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and a trio of new screens that show off the game’s frosty jetpack-filled action.

That icy arctic fun won’t be the only environment Killzone 3 players find themselves in, as the official confirmation promises that we’ll “trudge through toxic nuclear wastelands, get lost in a lethal alien jungle, fight in bitter arctic conditions and take the battle into space.”

Sony’s pitching Guerrilla Games’ next PS3 game as a David versus Goliath battle, with the caveat “if Goliath had thousands of troops and a thermonuclear arsenal”. Imagine the following shots of Killzone 3 in stereoscopic 3D as you wait and wait for the next chapter.

Killzone 3 Announced And Playable In 3D []

  • Cue the ‘I hope this 3D craze dies a quick death because I hate it’ and the ‘3D is the best thing ever’ posts.

I have Killzone 2 but haven’t played it yet. Eek!

I had a game backlog and just plain forgot it was there until I cleaned out the game drawer last night. Finally finished Bioshock2 last night…erm a couple of hours ago.

Looking forward to 3D gaming actually, I’m happy to take a resolution hit to get 3D, I find it really immersive when done well. Now I need to work out how to get my projector setup to work in 3D, gaming on the 22″ monitor is nice, but on the 3m wide screen is nicer.

    • No, no they are screens mainly because they look exactly like 2. I was kinda hoping 3 would be a benchmark for the next playstation.

  • i think this is going to be “out of this world” literally, only one problem i see…..the 3D TV’s are too expensive!!.

i played the original killzone, it was good but was lacking some things, but was immensely made up for in killzone 2 which was and still is an awesome game.
the online multiplayer is good but could be better with a few adjustments.

but for Guerrilla Games to push killzone 3 beyond the limits of visual expectation, i commend them on that.

    • 3DTV’s aren’t actually that much more expensive than good quality LED TV’s. A 50inch Samsung 3D LED TV is only about $500 more than the same TV without 3D. Sure, plenty of big LCD/Plasma TV’s are getting very cheap, but the quality TV’s that are LED with 200hz are expensive anyway, so $500 more for 3D is not that much comparatively.

On topic, I hope this game is a bit longer than the last. I really enjoyed Killzone 2, but the single player campaign was all over in about 6hrs.

    • Yes because we all know how bad this game is going to be with little to no plot details released.

Seriously if you have nothing nice to say, go say it on a mic over Xbox Live, that is if you can get a word in with the racist, sexist and annoying peers that you are playing with.

  • @Trop

all the hands-on stuff i’ve read so far (ign/eurogamer) say it’s all ingame and playable, no prerendered hype bs this time!

  • I remember the Killzone 2 competition was the very first comp I had ever entered on this site, and after coming in second I vowed to never buy this game or any Killzone games until I won in off this very site.

I personally don’t like the idea of a 3D FPS, just thinking about it gives me nausea

  • With having it in 3d, wouldn’t that make it just “meh” quality graphics for normal players?
